29.10.2025 The sky was alive with excitement today as AEROSTEAM 2025 officially launched at the Aerospace Discovery Centre, USM Engineering Campus! Funded by MMK Sains dan Teknologi, Kerajaan Negeri Pulau Pinang, this program is proudly held in collaboration with the School of Aerospace Engineering USM, Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Seberang Perai Selatan, and the USM RC Plane Club. What began in 2023 as a small paper wing competition by the USM RC Plane Club has now soared to new heights! After earning a STEM grant from the Penang Education Council in 2024, AEROSTEAM 2025 has grown even bigger — uniting 16 secondary schools from Seberang Perai Selatan to compete in four exciting paper plane challenge categories: 1. 14.10.2025 Today, we have completed our first Flight Controller Learning Experiment in our Aerospace Discovery Centre, Universiti Sains Malaysia . The content of this experiment is to setup, integrate, and ground check fixed wing aircraft and convert it into fixed wing drone. To share, this is one of our specialty that we focus as an Aerospace Centre located in USM Kampus Kejuruteraan May the knowledge become a good hands on experiences to the students and towards becoming Aerospace Engineers in future. 15 Oct - Organized by the Aerospace Society USM Engineering Campus, this exciting event was held in joint collaboration with AeroSoc, USM RC Plane Club, USM Drone Club, and WAU Rocketry USM. As the new semester begins, this was the perfect opportunity for students to gain insights into various aerospace club activities and discover how they can become part of the community. Held at our very own Aerospace Discovery Centre, located at the heart of the USM Engineering Campus, the event attracted many students — especially those from the Aerospace Engineering programme — who came eager to learn and explore. Participants had engaging conversations with the leaders of each club and society, gaining a clearer picture of their exciting projects and missions. 1.10.2025 International Student Internship Program at our Aerospace Discovery Centre A remarkable journey for two students from Nagaoka University of Technology during their internship program at our Aerospace Discovery Centre, School of Aerospace Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Its only 3.5 weeks and yet they managed to get all the design, fabrication and project tasks to be completed.   Well managed and a very hard working students. 28.8.2025 Yes, we have done the 1st Open day for Aerospace Discovery Centre, Universiti Sains Malaysia . We are very excited to see more and more people come in to our facilities here at USM Kampus Kejuruteraan to see, feel, hands on with our full scale and scale aircrafts here at our Hangar School of Aerospace Engineering USM . This is only the beginning, Aerospace Discovery Centre will have more and more open day to the public after this.   This is truly us, the spirit of discovery and get the taste of aerospace in your hand. During last Hari Warga Staf 2025, Aerospace Discovery Centre hold a most technical event, that is build 4 paper planes with a single hand, throw it down to ground floor with your team mate try to catch the airplane with basket. The event that are participated by staffs all over USM have the best experiences to be here and get the most valuable experience especially technical works here.   Truly remarkable experience and enjoy the activities.
